Maxim Girl Nikki Bokal

Born and raised in New York City, Nikki was brought up in a highly artistic and creative household by her mother, a model and a businesswoman, after her parents split ehn she was a toddler. Nikki learned early to appreciate theater, music, dance, and art, and enrolled in virtually every kind of dance class, including ballet, jazz and hip-hop, as well as voice and piano lessons. As a child, she hung out in The Guggenheim, developing an unusual early love for architecture, and also became an avid equestrian rider. She preferred the company of her mother and her mother's artist friends to that of kids her age - probably because they were a willing captive audience for her frequent dance routines, comedy sketches amd dramatic recitals.

At 15, Nikki's professional career began, when she followed in her mother's footsteps into the world of modeling. She traveled the world, doing fashion shoots and runway in Europe, South America and Asia. Modeling gave her the freedom and the confidence to learn by experience, see new things and, most importantly, pursue acting. In spite of landing some commercials and taking screenwriting, directing and producing class at New York University, Nikki felt she needed to head West to truly launch an acting career. The consummate New Yorker took the plunge one day, calling a moving company and asking them when they could move her to Hollywood. When they replied, "Two weeks," she had her departure date.

Once in Los Angeles, Nikki continued to model, but acting classes with Ivana Chubbuck was where her paasion lay. Once again, she began to book commercials, and theatrical jobs were not far behind. Early credits include a guest-starring role on The WB's "Jack & Jill" and the independent feature film "Out in Fifty" with Mickey Rourke and Christina Applegate. She then landed teh gritty role of a heroin abuser in "Redemption", which was immediately followed by a meaty part in a major studio filn, "Enough". In addition, she recently started an apprenticeship with The Actors' Gang Ensemble Theatre. In very short order, Nikki has sped to the head of the class, and cannot wait to see how moviegoers respond. Now ensconced in Hollywood - albeit in a very New York - like apartment - Nikki returns to Manhattan every two months to see family and friends.

She's an avid golfer, having picked up the game as a child, continues to ride horses and longs to get behind the wheel of a racecar. Over the past year, she has started DJ-ing and salsa dancing. A vegetarian and owner of two cats, Bear and Jack, who she rescuedin the desert, Nikki is an animal rights activist and a big believer in finger-painting as a stress reliever.
