Pamela Anderson is the epitome of sexiness. As a world-famous sex symbol, she sets the standard for the "blonde bombshell." We could point out specific moments when Pamela Anderson has been particularly sexy (i.e. running down the beach in that fire-engine red bathing suit in slow motion as C.J. Parker on Baywatch), but we'd run out of space for describing other aspects of her being. Check out anything she has appeared in if there's any doubt.
Pamela Anderson may not have won any major acting awards or broken any box-office records, but she hasn't needed to do much except just be Pamela Anderson in order to gain recognition, and that's a rarity. Pamela Anderson entered the world under the spotlight as Canada's Centennial Baby and was discovered sitting among a crowd at a Canadian football game.
She has appeared on the cover of Playboy more times than any other woman. Her sudden marriage to rocker Tommy Lee thrust her even further into the spotlight. Their famous stolen sex video ensured the couple's notoriety around the world when it appeared on the internet. Her split with Tommy and subsequent involvement with Kid Rock kept Pamela Anderson in the spotlight, just where we like her.
As for film roles, she made her big-screen debut in 1996's bomb Barb Wire, and has since appeared in 2003's Scary Movie, made a cameo in Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006) and Blonde and Blonder (2007) alongside Denise Richards. In 2008, she played the Invisible Girl in Superhero Movie, costarring Sara Panxton.
Pamela Denise Anderson was born in Ladysmith, British Columbia, on July 1, 1967. Literally born into the spotlight, she was the first baby to be born on Canada's 100th birthday, earning her the title of "The Centennial Baby." Her landmark birth was chronicled in the local newspaper and her parents, Barry and Carol, were awarded with cash prizes for the birth of little Pamela.
In the summer of 1989, Pamela Anderson was spotted on the jumbo screen of a CFL game wearing a Labatt T-shirt, and the crowd went wild for her. Labatt immediately offered her a modeling contract. Thanks to the popularity of a Labatt beer campaign in Vancouver, Canada, Pamela Anderson was approached to do a cover for Playboy. Her appearance in Hugh Hefner's magazine was the launching pad of her career, and roles in television soon followed.
She had a small role on the comedy Married... With Children and played Lisa, the Tool Time Girl, on Home Improvement. Her role on Home Improvement led to her red bathing suit-clad role as lifeguard C.J. Parker on Baywatch.
In 1996, Pamela Anderson starred in her first feature film, Barb Wire, despite her manager's advice to refuse the film role. She should have taken his advice, since the film bombed at the box office.
